Digital Accessibility
I specialize in creating accessible options for community members to engage in content and materials originally designed for mainstream audiences.
Examples of my accessibility work can be seen at The History Center in Tompkins County. Major projects included coordinating audio versions of over 50 walking tours on the PocketSights app; developing their “Pre-Visit Guide to The History Center for Visitors on the Autism Spectrum”; developing alt-text for all images at thehistorycenter.net; creating and reviewing subtitles for all YouTube videos; and working with the Finger Lakes Independence Center to implement physical engagement and display changes for all museum exhibits from 2021-2024.
Subtitles and transcripts - For video or audio
Alt-text - Visual descriptors for digital images
