The Memories We Keep - 50 Years of the Ulysses Historical Society 1975-2025
On display at the Ulysses Historical Society, April - December 2025
Lead researcher & Exhibit Curator - Zoë Van Nostrand
‘The Memories We Keep’ is an exhibit recognizing 50 years of the Ulysses Historical Society celebrating, preserving, and exploring the history of the town of Ulysses and the Finger Lakes region.
The exhibit invites us to remember the origins of the society through community organizing in the mid 1970s, sustained through volunteer engagement and support over the last half century. Exhibit highlights include artifacts from the first exhibit on display at the UHS first display in the Masonic Temple, and draws from the UHS scrapbook collection to explore some of the stories, events, and community collaborations that have defined our first half century. The physical exhibit is on display on the first floor of the Ulysses Historical Society Museum at 39 South St, and can be seen during our open hours on Saturdays & Sundays from 2-4pm from April-December. We invite visitors to come in and stay awhile, exploring our scrapbooks documenting the organizations history from the 1970s to the present days. This exhibit is the first by our new volunteer Zoë Van Nostrand who joined UHS in January 2025.
