“Patch Me Through Community” Arts & Music Event with Seed Bomb & WRFI Community Radio 7/10
Patch Me Through Community - Art & Music Event on the Ithaca Commons
Friday July 10th from 2-7pm at Seed Bomb on the West end of the Ithaca Commons
Join us for a summer afternoon in community! Supported by a grant from the Downtown Ithaca Alliance we're gathered for an afternoon to evening celebration and community building. Event is free to attend for all ages! Grab a late lunch, bring a chair, enjoy the music, and partake in the community art making!
MUSIC & DANCE PARTY SCHEDULE
2-3:30PM - DJ Sarah Hennies (of The Bendy Bus) - Playing an all vinyl set with a mix of punk, garage, and upbeat rock
3:30-5pm - DJ Keir Neuringer (of Jumping in the Sugar Bowl) - Playing an all vinyl rhythm oriented afro-diasporic set - soul jazz/boogaloo/afro-caribbean and adjacent sounds
5-7pm - DJ lowercase marc (of Catholic Block) - Playing an all vinyl set of danceable darkwave synth, post-punk, and more
ART MAKING SCHEDULE - 2-7PM
Hand press your own WRFI Radio Buttons inside Seed Bomb, choose from pre-printed designs or draw your own! (ALL AGES)
Sew your new screen printed patches onto your clothes! Patches for sale at Seed Bomb, including two NEW flying fish designs for WRFI Community Radio created by the brilliant artist Jake Martin of Seed Bomb. Bring your own items (shirts, jackets, totes, etc.) to hand sew patches to. Sewing materials and instruction provided by Zoë Van Nostrand aka the Sustainable Spinster. Blank tote bags will also be available for $10 to attach your new patches to, if you don't have an item of your own that yearns for a new patch! (AGES 12-112 for hand-sewing activities)
